Returning to the theme of recycling old materials. I had about 100 old postcards of my own, mostly from the 1970s. I went onto eBay and bought a lot more—from the early 20th century to the 1980s.
I overprinted the cards in silver with a message that said, “From me wherever I am, to you wherever you are,” and made a custom stamp for the backs of the cards.
Assigning the right card to the right person became complex. And some of these I was very, very fond of.
To make matters more complicated, many of them had been used, and, as noted previously, I love found letters.
